You&#039;d lose schedule flexibility or would have to change the whole thing if you went to two large divisions. I think rotating teams in divisions would be interesting... move the strongest team from last year to a different division this year, etc. Or something.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve been thinking about these same things and I like your solution.  It does a nice job of solving many of the problems.

My other thought with all of this is why does the NFL have 4 four team divisions?  Winning a division of 4 just seems like a pretty low barrier to getting in the playoffs.  What if it was 2 divisions of 8?  Take the winner of each plus the next 4 best teams as wild cards?  Just a thought.  Then winning the division would actually mean you did something worthwhile.</description>
